About Us

I discovered that my fascination with photography began in kindergarten, after my mother recently pulled out a popsicle stick project that was to depict what we wanted to be when we grew up.  My five year old hands shaped a camera out of construction paper hung by a piece of yarn around my wooden figure's neck.  While I vaguely remember this project, I do recall always wanting to play with my parent's Kodak every time it was pulled out.

Growing up, I was enchanted with old Hollywood glamour and fashion.  I would pull out photographs of magazines and hang on my wall, hoping one day to be able to capture iconic images like those.  Photographers became my heroes, because they were allowed to be in the presence of such beauty, and were the instruments who shaped, formed, and finished what I considered to be masterpieces of art.

Artists since the beginning of time have recorded the beauty and tragedy of the human experience through story, song, and the visual arts.  I believe photography to be just as valuable an expression of art as any painting, sculpture, or classic novel.  A photograph captures intimate moments in a person's life and not onl preserves it for the future, but tells the story of the journey up until the moment that the shutter is released.  The eyes, face and body language of the subject all work together in weaving precious tales of someone's past and their relationships.  Photography, unlike painting, is very raw.  Photographs may present real people in real situations, making it easier for viewers to relate to it's content.

I have been taking photographs for almost twenty years.  I began with a 35 mm film camera, moved on to a medium format camera and now work with the wonders of the digital age.  I have learned a great deal over this time, not only with technique, but with my style of photography.  There is always room to learn, as technology moves forward and my desire is to bring you the finest quality product that I can.

I recently graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, which afforded me an education on photographic technique, artistic vision and style, marketing and business.  I feel confident with the things that I have learned that I will be able to better serve the public and offer you a service that will stand out among the rest.

I consider myself a portrait artist and my style is very simple--clean, classic and timeless.  My goal is to capture the real you, inside and out, and you, your family, your children and your loves, should be the focus.  There is a certain magic that happens when the subject is free in a location and you use the elements already present at the time of the session...you usually always end up with something beautiful.

I would love to work with each and every one of you for your photographic needs and feel that I am very easy to work with and desire to make you happy with your final product.  My sessions are very laid back as I wish to make you feel as comfortable as you can be.

As an artist, I depend on the recognition of the value of photographic art, respect for my creative vision, and support in my continued process as a photographer.

I feel so blessed to be able to do what I have always wanted to do and I could not have accomplished that without any of you.  This business has been successfull because you have trusted me to record your precious memories.  I have really enjoyed meeting so many new people, and consider all of you new friends.  I look forward to many more experiences and many more people and am very excited about the things to come!
